When my vein is gone?
"There is no harm done when you close a varicose vein", says Dr. Sanjiv Lakhanpal", the founder of the Center for Vein Restoration. Your superficial vein system, in which varicose veins develop, only carries a small amount of your legs blood flow and when the valves are damaged the blood can't flow properly. Your other leg veins are called the deep veins and they carry the majority of your legs blood flow. When these varicose veins are closed the blood is redirected to your deep vein system, which is more than equipped to handle this small increase. By redirecting this flow it allowing the rest of your superficial veins to start functioning properly and pump blood.
